The Happening was honestly the worst thing I have ever seen. I loved it. The script and acting was so bad it was downright surreal, from the opening with a bunch of construction workers jumping (more accurately, flailing) off of a building to the part when Wahlberg's character lets out a classic slow-motion "NOOOOOO" in response to some kid getting shotgunned by a hick. The direction was off too, there were lots of long, awkward shots where an actor would just keep talking on like some sort of bizarre adlib. A lot of Leguizamo's dialogue was like this, with a close-up on his goofy-looking face to really add to the effect.

Watch the movie if you don't mind giving money to a hack director in exchange for an hour and a half of easy laughs.
